The place is a skull alike en was therefore so called Skull place (Golgotha in Aramaic). It was an execution place, with heavy traffic, outside the city walls. Jesus was crucified along this heavy traffic road, stark naked, at eye-level so men could see Him suffer, could spit on Hem and mock with Him.
