The so awaited discovery begins with latent morning mist! Huang means Yellow and Shan means Mountain; Quite all sacred or major mountains names in China contain the suffix Shan (as Tian Shan, Kunlun Shan, Qilian Shan, Baytik Shan, Hengduan Shan etc...). The mighty Huangshan, one of the most heavenly natural site on earth, resumes by itself all the splendours of other sacred Chinese mountains: the splendor of Mt Taishan, the fantastic vertiginous escarpments of Mt Huashan, the cloud sea of Mt Hengshan, the waterfalls of Mt Lushan, the freshness of Mt Emei and the perfect harmony of Mt Yingdang; Re-mastered image.

Shixing (Chinese word) is also the 'Beginning-to-believe-Peak' as You feel entering inside a Chinese painting! There are 72 famous named peaks in the huge rugged range of about one thousand peaks often covered by whirling fogs which make up the magic of this place, peaks appearing and disappearing in a sea of clouds when observed from the top of one of them; I saw a reportage on the fabulous pictures of Marc Riboud and decided that I should go there at least one time in my life; We had difficulties to find a tour group going there except Chinese speaking ones; So we finished to buy the excellent traditional Imperial tour of China at Mandarin Voyages in Paris Champs-Elyeses and built with them and with Chinese permissions of the local Tour Supervisor two prior extensions (one week before our group tour arrival in Beijing), one to Huangshan in Anhui province from Shanghai (as we arrived in Shanghai and not in Beijing) then a flight to Beijing and a second to Chengde, a train ride from Beijing to this also very desired destination; The Chinese Emperors vacation place of Chengde, UNESCO classified for its many awesome temples and the famous 'Palace to escape from the heat' were outstanding places to see; We were back in Beijing and went to the airport just in time to be inserted in the group arriving from Paris for the Imperial tour including Beijing and surroundings, a flight to XI'an its fabulous terracota warriors, a flight to Shanghai(second visit for us), a train ride to Suzhou gardensf from Shanghai, a flight to Guilin and a cruise on Li River, a flight to Guangzhouand a visit of its amin landmarks,a ferry ride to to Hongkong that we had visited already 2 times and direct flight back to Paris; A tremendous adventure and an unforgettable trip! Re-mastered image.
