When rice plant is about knee-high tall, male members of the Ifugao tribe perform Tagtag. To ensure good harvest, they beat wooden planks and chant in unison while in the rice fields to ward off pests and capture evil vibrations by the red leaf adornments they wear in their bodies. Leaves are thrown into the river along with evil vibes caught by it during the ritual.
