Morning Glory Pool is located in the Upper Geyser Basin and it's probably the best known of its pools. According to a park brochure, the long favored destination for visitors was named for its remarkable likeness to its namesake flower. Unfortunately, this previously vibrant blue pool has fallen victim to vandalism; people have thrown tons of coins and other debris into the pool. Much of it had become embedded in its side and vent reducing water circulation and resulting in lower water temperatures. These lower temperatures have in turn led to the orange and yellow thermophiles that now thrive.
