picture: LETCHWORTH STATE PARK HIKING TRAILS - #6 The Portage Trail
The parking area/overlook for trail #6 is about ¾ mile from the Parade Grounds Entrance on the East side of Letchworth State Park. No admission is charged on this side. The trailhead is at the far end of this parking area. The hike for Trail #6 and Trail #6A, The Footbridge Trail can be easily combined into one trek. The distance between the parking areas is just 7/10 of a mile. You may descend on one trail, explore to your hearts content, then ascend on the other trail and walk the Park road back to your vehicle in whichever area you left it.
