We were lucky. Every spring Southern Right Whales come in to Point Ann to calve. We drove for 70 kms on gravel roads in the hopes of seeing some and bingo!! There were four family groups in the bay, the nearest being just 150 metres off shore. A wonderful cliff top lookout has been built and we couldn't get out of the car and up there quickly enough!
