I just got back from Prednestrovia, the breakaway Republic between Ukraine and the Dnester River in Moldovia. I was impressed with the way the village people constructed their homes, especially the gables. These photos will illustrate why.

I like the way the gable overhangs the wall and the facia board restrains the thatch. The overall effect is very Eastern. This home definitely needs re-thatching though
