An RM 450 (Route Master) on a day out, travelling the 230 bus route covered from 1933-1969 by an RLH 48 (Regent Low Height) bus. The RLH buses were specially built to cover routes that had low bridges. The lower deck was much the same as any other London bus, exept for the ceiling in the passenger area on the driver's side was lowered by a couple of feet. You had to be careful when standing up. Upstairs had a very different layout. Yhe seats were four abreast with the gangway dropped on the driver's side. If you were sitting closest to the nearside window, you would have to ask the three people next to you to move so that you could get out. Then you would have to keep stooped down until you reached the dropped gangway where you could stand to full height. ~ http://www.timebus.co.uk/english/vehs/opentp/RM450-summinfo-2.pdf ~ http://www.countrybus.org.uk/RLH/RLH.html
