Enfield and Canterbury New Hampshire. The Shakers had a colorful, if odd history. The villages do a good job of explaining the whole Shaker ideal. Somehow I personally can't fathom a religion based on Celibacy, seems a little counter productive to me.

From Lankatilaka Temple we had another 1.5km walk through rice paddies before we reached this temple. This is a superb example of architecture in wood, and was established by King Vikramabahu in 1371 AD.

"Sri Dalada Maligawa" as called by Sri Lankans, is the most venerated Buddhist shrine of the whole island. The temple was originally built by King Vimaladharmasuriya I (1592-1603) in two stories. Nothing remains of the original building built around 1600.
