Angkor, Cambodia. April 2004. Built in the late 12th century, Ta Prohm was a Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of Jayavarman VII. Lichen, moss, creeping plants, shrubs, and roots have been allowed to invade the temple, giving it a greenish pall.

Also known as "The Jungle Temple," Ta Prohm has been left untouched except for the clearing of a path for visitors and structural strengthening to stave off further deterioration. "It is investigated with delight and left with regret."
