13 January 2008. Our friend, Sharon lives in the frigid cold north of central Alaska. Although she has loved the rugged beauty of Alaska and has posted hundreds of photos of our beautiful northern state, in her heart, she wishes to return to her beautiful Hawaii. With that thought in mind, I have created a little altar for her in my office. The long scarf wraps around, covering north and west walls signifying the north where she lives now and west where she longs to be. The photo of her is one that she spent many hours creating that integrates her image with Ka Lae Pohaku Beach on the Gold Coast and the west side of Maui. Also, there is a letter she wrote with how she longs to return to Maui. I have added a parareau, seashells, leis, books and of course a camera. My Tiffany style lamp with the golden light signifies the sun... of which she is seldom seeing these days. I hope that you will leave a message for her with a wish and a prayer to lift her spirits and bring her to her beautiful Hawaiian Islands soon. Mahalo dear friends for keeping the Aloha spirit alive.
