18.79 metre tall Shiawasemura Buddha is situated in Tokai city Aichi Japan. Tokai city is 20 minutes by train from Central Japan Airport on the way to Nagoya city,,,, access from Syuraku-en station on the meitetsu line. A short walk up to the shrine will reveal a great platform from where you can observe the surrounding area. Happy village opened in April 1997 in Syuraku-en, where the dignified Great Buddha sits. The new Garden & park called Happy village has several facilities including a training gym a heated pool and 14 kinds of bathing rooms and a restaurant.

The great sitting Buddha of Tokai city is situated only 20 minutes south of Nagoya city Aichi ken Japan, access from the Meitetsu train line, easy walk up to the Buddha from the station (Syuraku-en station).It was was built by a businessman from Nagoya, Mr. Saikichi Yamada, in 1927. It commemorates the marriage of Emperor Showa. It is made of reinforced concrete and is 18.8m tall. It went through major reinforcement and repairs in 1984, and in 1985 a special ceremony was held that honored the Buddha as an object of worship of the Daibutsu-ji Temple. The Buddha sits on a hill and catches people’s attention as a symbol of Tokai city.
