Snow Canyon is tucked away in the hills west of St George. To one side of the canyon lie the Red Mountains, while a few miles away are the White Hills, and eroded sandstone rocks of both colors make up the cliffs at either side of the valley.

Bristle Cone Pines are the oldest know living things on earth. From what I was told the oldest ones at and near Bryce Canyon are only 1400-1600 years old. I think they are great subjust to photograph the hold such character.

Goblin Valley State Reserve in Utah is a valley with unique geological formations made of sandstone that has eroded, leaving behind odd-shaped "Goblins". The planet scene of the movie "Galaxy Quest" was filmed in this valley.

Dead Horse Point State Park is a few miles from Canyonlands National Park. Named for a herd of horses that died of thirst there, DHP is on top of a plateau at 6000 feet of elevation, 1900 feet above the Colorado River that meanders below.

Arches National Park in Utah is home to over 2000 natural sandstone arches. The arches are formed when softer rock erodes, leaving a hole in the surrounding harder rock.
