We arrived at Naples at dawn on a ferry from Palermo (Sicily). Napleas is underrated as a tourist attraction. Besides its proximity to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mt. Vesuvius, it has a world-class archeological museum, and many unique sites.

Mount Vesuvius is a volcano east of Naples, Italy. It is conspicuous in the beautiful landscape presented by the Bay of Naples, when seen from the sea, with Naples in the foreground. Vesuvius is best known for its eruption in AD 79 that led to the destruction of the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
