Upon travelling to Drenthe, I chanced to see a hot-air balloon festival which was taking place in a nearby field. Drenthe is a lovely province, despite it being the least well-known of the country's twelve.

The far north of the Netherlands includes the province of Drenthe. There are many impressive buildings in the area and I can only imagine what it would be like to live in one of these stately houses!
