A welcome sign to Hahndorf in German. I think the rest means "Our town is getting nicer".
Hahndorf advertises itself as Australia's oldest German town. In 1838 the first German Lutheran settlers arrived in South Australia. Many were fleeing persecution by the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III. One of the ships carrying the pioneers, the Zebra under the control of Danish captain Dirk Hahn, went out of his way to help these new immigrants. They were so grateful that a town was eventually named in his honour - Hahndorf or Hahn's town.
