  • Q - What are your Photo Submission Guidelines?
  • A - Webshots is always looking for incredible photography! Please visit our photo submission guidelines.
  • Q - I placed an order, can I contact customer support?
  • A - Just visit My Account and click the Order History tab. Click View Receipt next to each transaction you would like to view. The status of your order will be updated upon shipping.
  • Q - Will Webshots automatically renew my membership?
  • A - It depends on which type of membership you signed up for. If you signed up before March 9, 2004, Webshots will not automatically renew your membership. We'll simply remind you when your membership is close to expiring. Starting on March 9, 2004, Webshots began offering recurring memberships. If you signed up for a monthly recurring membership, you will be billed monthly until you cancel your subscription. If you signed up for a yearly recurring membership, you will be billed yearly until you cancel your subscription. To find out which type of membership you have and/or to cancel your subscription, go to My Account.
  • Q - I'm having problems downloading photos. Can you help me?
  • A - First, make sure you have downloaded and installed the Webshots software. To download a photo, click it so it is slightly enlarged. If you are in the Gallery section click the High Quality or Regular button. If you are in the Community section, click the Download Photo button. Photos will automatically install to your Webshots software.

    If you are receiving the error: A problem occurred extracting files to C:\Windows\Temp\WebshotsTemp\, please clear your temporary Internet files.

    To clear your temporary Internet files:

    1. Open your Internet browser.
    2. Click on Tools > Internet Options.
    3. Click Delete Files

  • Q - How many photos can I upload with Webshots Premium?
  • A - Webshots Premium members are entitled to store a maximum of 5,000 photos. These can be distributed in up to 150 Albums.
  • Q - How do I transfer Webshots from an old computer to a new one?
  • A - For Webshots desktop 2.0 save your "Webshots Data" folder to a disk. (This may require a Zip disk or CD burner, for the folder could contain many images). The "Webshots Data" folder is located in "My Documents." Once you have your new computer, copy the "Webshots Data" folder to "My Documents." When you install the Webshots software it will find the photo Collections and install them.

    Locate your Collections folder for Webshots 1.0, save the Collections folder to disk. (This may require a Zip disk or CD burner) The Collections folder is usually located on your main hard drive. Open Windows Explorer.

    1. Click on your hard drive.
    2. Double click on the Program Files folder.
    3. Double click on the Webshots folder. Your Collections folder is located inside your Webshots folder.
    4. Once you have your new computer, download the Webshots Desktop.
    5. Save the download to your desktop.
    6. Double click on the installation file.
    7. Copy the contents of your old Collections folder to your new Collections folder.

    This will allow you to have all of your images on your new computer.

  • Q - How do I cancel my Webshots Premium membership and when will the cancellation be effective?
  • A - To cancel your subscription, first go to My Account and click on "Cancel Premium Membership." Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the monthly or yearly term (depending on the billing cycle you chose) in which you cancelled. Please be advised that your photo storage capacity will go back to the capacity of a free Webshots account, 1,000 photos. Photos above that limit will be placed on hold and will be inaccessible. You will also lose all of your other Premium benefits. Your Webshots member name and password will remain the same so that you may continue to use our free service.
  • Q - How do I download an entire page of photos?
  • A - Only Webshots Premium members may download entire pages of photos. You can only download entire pages of photos from the Webshots Gallery section. Images located in the Webshots Daily or Community must be downloaded one at a time.
    1. Go to the Gallery section.
    2. Choose a page of photos you would like to download.
    3. Next to the Download this page of photos link, click on Regular or High Quality. The high quality downloads are the highest resolution we have available.
    4. The page of photos will automatically install to your Webshots Desktop software.
  • Q - Why do I get an error every time I download an image?
  • A - You may need to clear your Temporary Internet files:
    1. Open your Internet browser.
    2. Click on Tools --> Internet Options.
    3. Click Delete Files.

    If this does not work please try the following:

    Go to Start--> Programs--> Accessories--> System Tools and run Disk Cleanup from the menu.

  • Q - How do I backup my photo Collections?
  • A - Your Webshots Collections are, by default, located under My Documents in a folder named Webshots Data. To back up your Collections:
    1. Double click My Documents.
    2. Save the Webshots Data folder onto the desired media. Please note that the Webshots Data folder will not fit onto a floppy disk. You must use either a Zip disk or a CD burner.
  • Q - What is Webshots Premium and how much does it cost?
  • A - Webshots Premium offers these features:

    We have a 1 year Premium membership, which is $29.88/year, billed & renewed yearly.

  • Q - How do I change my member name?
  • A - We do not have an option to change your member name at this time. If you would like to use a new member name, you can sign up for a new account.
  • Q - Why am I having problems accessing the Webshots site and/or uploading photos?
  • A - You may be behind a firewall, which is interfering with traffic to and from Webshots. Some common ones may be Zone Alarm or Norton Internet Security. If these are not configured correctly, they can cause issues with receiving the full benefits of the Webshots browsing experience.

    Adjust your firewall to allow passage for the entire webshots.com domain. Refer to the help file in your firewall software for instructions, as we cannot give specific instructions for all setups.

    If you continue to experience issues, disable your firewall temporarily or contact the company from which you purchased it for proper setup instructions.

  • Q - Can I change the location of where my photo collections are stored?
  • A - To change the location of the Webshots Data folder, open the Webshots Desktop software by double clicking the icon on the desktop.
    1. Click the Options button.
    2. Click the Advanced tab.
    3. Click the Move Photos button.
    4. Navigate to a new location and click the Select button.
    5. The Webshots Data folder will now be moved to the new location.

    Moving the Webshots Data location to a network/mapped drive or removable media is not supported.
