  1. How do I transfer Webshots from an old computer to a new one?

    For Webshots desktop save your "Webshots Data" folder to a disk. (This may require a Zip disk or CD burner, for the folder could contain many images). The "Webshots Data" folder is located in "My Documents." Once you have your new computer, copy the "Webshots Data" folder to "My Documents." When you install the Webshots software it will find the photo Collections and install them.

    Locate your Collections folder for Webshots 1.0, save the Collections folder to disk. (This may require a Zip disk or CD burner) The Collections folder is usually located on your main hard drive. Open Windows Explorer.

    1. Click on your hard drive.
    2. Double click on the Program Files folder.
    3. Double click on the Webshots folder. Your Collections folder is located inside your Webshots folder.
    4. Once you have your new computer, download the Webshots Desktop.
    5. Save the download to your desktop.
    6. Double click on the installation file.
    7. Copy the contents of your old Collections folder to your new Collections folder.

    This will allow you to have all of your images on your new computer.

  3. Why do I get an error every time I download an image?
    You may need to clear your Temporary Internet files:
    1. Open your Internet browser.
    2. Click on Tools > Internet Options.
    3. Click Delete Files.

  4. How do I get my Premium features to show up?
    We suggest you sign out of your Webshots account (by clicking Sign out in the top right of any Webshots page) type in your member name password and click sign in. If you can not remember your member name (username) or password, please visit our lost account information page.

    Please note, if you have more than one account with Webshots, you must log in with the member name you used when you signed up for Webshots Premium. Visit the lost account information page to have all your accounts emailed to you.

  5. What methods of payment do you accept?
    Webshots accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. We can only process your order if you use one of these credit cards, or if you use a bankcard that has a Visa or MasterCard logo on it. If you do not have access to one of these cards, please continue to enjoy the Webshots Free service.

  6. Why am I having problems accessing the Webshots site and/or uploading photos?
    You may be behind a firewall, which is interfering with traffic to and from Webshots. Some common ones may be Zone Alarm or Norton Internet Security. If these are not configured correctly, they can cause issues with receiving the full benefits of the Webshots browsing experience.

    Adjust your firewall to allow passage for the entire webshots.com domain. Refer to the help file in your firewall software for instructions, as we cannot give specific instructions for all setups.

    If you continue to experience issues, disable your firewall temporarily or contact the company from which you purchased it for proper setup instructions.

  7. Can I use Webshots images outside of the Webshots Desktop software and website?
    No. You can't extract or print the Webshots images. They are all specially encoded to protect the copyright privileges of our professional photographers. Webshots images can only be used within the Webshots Desktop software and on our website.

    Webshots has purchased the rights to use these images within the Webshots program. We are not authorized to allow them to be used elsewhere. If you would like to use any of the images you will need to contact the photographer or company. There is a link or name under most of the images on our website.

  8. I installed Webshots and now it's my starting page. How do I change it back?
    If you are using Internet Explorer:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Type in the URL of the page you would like to have as your home page in the address bar.
    3. Click on the Tools menu option at the top of the browser.
    4. Select Internet Options.
    5. Under Home page, click Use Current.
    6. Click OK to save the setting.

    If you are using Netscape:

    1. Open Netscape.
    2. Type in the URL of the page you would like to have as your home page in the address bar.
    3. Click on the Edit menu option at the top of the browser.
    4. Select Preferences.
    5. Under Home page, click Use Current Page.
    6. Click OK to save the setting.

  9. How do I update my email address?
    To update your Webshots account information, you must be logged in. Go to My Account.

    Enter your new email address and click Save Updates to save your changes. Be sure to check the box next to Send me "Webshots Weekly" emails if you would like to receive weekly updates from us.
