Yes, we've renamed our subscription service Webshots Premium. It's the same service with all the premium features you love, but it has a new name.

- How do I sign up for Webshots Premium?
If you’re already a Webshots Free Member, make sure your signed in, go to the My Shots drop down menu on the home page and choose the Account link. On you’re account page click Start Premium Membership!

- How do I sign in to my Webshots Premium account?
To access your Premium Membership, just click the Sign in link at the top right corner of any Webshots page. If you don’t see Sign in, and you see the My Account link, it’s because you are already logged in.

- Does Webshots include United States sales tax in the price of Premium or Prints and Gifts?
When shipping Prints and Gifts to the following states, the customer will have to pay tax:
- IL (6.25%)
- KY (6.0%)
- MA (5.0%)
- NJ (7.0%)
- NY (7.25%)
- CA (7.25%)
- GA (5.0%)
Residents of the following states have to pay sales tax on Webshots Premium:
- KY (6.0%)
- NY (7.25%)
- NJ (7.0%)
- IN (6.0%)

- Why am I subject to VAT tax?
As of 1 July 2003, VAT laws changed in EU countries. For many kinds of online services, EU residents and citizens must pay VAT regardless of the country location of the service provider or the location of the consumer at the point of consumption.
The laws are complex, in some situations goods and services may not be subject to VAT. Our tax department worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers to establish that our subscription services are subject to VAT.
There are many updates to VAT, which makes it a bit hard to keep up with. The customs website has an online library documenting the history of VAT.

- Will Webshots automatically renew my membership?
It depends on which type of membership you signed up for. If you signed up before March 9, 2004, Webshots will not automatically renew your membership. We’ll simply remind you when your membership is close to expiring. Starting on March 9, 2004, Webshots began offering recurring memberships. If you signed up for a monthly recurring membership, you will be billed monthly until you cancel your subscription. If you signed up for a yearly recurring membership, you will be billed yearly until you cancel your subscription. To find out which type of membership you have and/or to cancel your subscription, go to My Account.

- How many photos can I upload with Webshots Premium?
Webshots Premium members are entitled to store a maximum of 5,000 photos. These can be distributed in up to 150 Albums.

- What methods of payment can I use to signup for a Premium Membership?
Webshots accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. We can only process your order if you use one of these credit cards, or if you use a bankcard that has a Visa or MasterCard logo on it. If you do not have access to one of these cards, please continue to enjoy the Webshots Free service.

- Should I be concerned about using my credit card on Webshots?
Your transaction is 100% secure. No additional software is necessary to begin enjoying Webshots Premium. Simply sign in with your Premium user name and start taking advantage of the added features.

- How do I cancel my Webshots Premium membership and when will the cancellation be effective?
To cancel your subscription, first go to My Account and click on "Cancel Premium Membership." Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the monthly or yearly term (depending on the billing cycle you chose) in which you cancelled. Please be advised that your photo storage capacity will go back to the capacity of a free Webshots account, 1,000 photos. Photos above that limit will be placed on hold and will be inaccessible. You will also lose all of your other Premium benefits. Your Webshots member name and password will remain the same so that you may continue to use our free service.

- How do I back up my photos?
If you haven't already, please upgrade to the latest version of the Webshots Desktop client.
To backup your photo albums, open the Webshots Desktop software:
- Click the My Photos Online tab.
- Click the Back up your photos link (bottom, right).
- Click the Start button.
- Select a location on your computer to save the images and click Select.
That's it! Your photos will be saved to the location you selected.

- What will happen to my Community photos if I upgrade to Webshots Premium?
When you upgrade from a Webshots Free account to a Webshots Premium account, all uploaded images will remain intact. However, the storage capacity will be expanded from 1,000 to 5,000 total photos.

- How much more space do the high-resolution pictures take up?
Regular Webshots images are 800x600 pixels and are approximately 120k – 130k. Our High Quality images are 1600x1200 pixels, and range from 300k – 800k per image.

Yes, Webshots offers a free membership service too. You can download and install the Webshots Desktop without paying, but as a free member you will only get access to a limited number of daily downloads, no exclusive Pro shots photos, no high-resolution downloads, surfing with ads, and a personal photo storage limit of 1,000 photos.
