  1. I'm having problems downloading photos. Help!
First, make sure you have downloaded and installed the Webshots software. To download a photo, click it so it is slightly enlarged. If you are in the Daily or Pro shots section click the High Quality or Regular button. If you are in the Community section, click the Download Photo button. Photos will automatically install to your Webshots software.

If you are receiving the error: A problem occurred extracting files to C:\Windows\Temp\WebshotsTemp\, please clear your temporary Internet files.

To clear your temporary Internet files:
    1. Open your Internet browser.
    2. Click on Tools > Internet Options.
    3. Click Delete Files

  2. When I click to download a photo, I'm asked to login. When I login, I'm asked to login again. Why am I stuck in this login loop?
Make sure your browser is enabled to accept all cookies. If your cookies are enabled, try deleting your cookies and logging in again.

If you're still experiencing problems, you may be running software or be behind a firewall or proxy server that prevents cookie transmission. Since the cookies are not making it through to your browser, you will not stay logged in. If this is the case, disable the software or firewall (if possible).

To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.5:
    1. Click Tools > Internet Options (Internet options may be under "view")
    2. Click the Security Tab
    3. Click the Custom Level button
    4. Scroll down to the Cookies Section and check the circle next to enable
  3. For Internet Explorer 6.0:
    1. Click Tools > Internet Options
    2. Click the Security tab
    3. Use the bar on the left of the window to change your setting to medium

  5. I tried to download a photo, but it said Premium Only and it wouldn't let me download. Why?
Some Webshots Pro shots photos are only available for download by Webshots Premium members. To download photos with the Premium Only symbol on the top, you will need to upgrade your account. However, you may still send Photo Messages and buy posters and gifts of all Pro shots images.

  6. When I click to download a photo, I am asked where I want to save it, or it opens in a program other than Webshots. How do I get photos to download to Webshots?
Try reinstalling your Webshots software. Download a new copy of the Webshots Desktop and install it over your existing copy. If you are running Windows 2000 and continue to have problems, you will need to re-associate the WBZ file type with the Webshots application:
    1. Right click Start and left click Explore.
    2. Click Tools >Folder Options.
    3. Click File Types.
    4. Click New.
    5. In the box next to File Extension, type wbz and click OK.
    6. Find the new file type, wbz, in the list and highlight it.
    7. Click Advanced (is you do not see the advanced button, click on Restore or Change and then Advanced).
    8. Click New.
    9. Under Action, type OPEN.
    10. Click Browse.
    11. Go to C: > Program Files > Webshots
    12. Highlight the swebexec.exe or launcher.exe file and click Open.
    13. Click OK.
    14. Uncheck the box next to confirm open after download.
    15. Click OK.

  7. When I click on a photo to download, nothing happens and/or I get an error message that says "error on page" or "javascript error". What should I do?
It sounds like you have software that blocks advertisements. Pop-up ads, cookies and javascript must be enabled within your ad filtering software in order for our website and downloads to work properly. The easiest thing to do is to disable your ad filtering software while you are visiting Webshots.

  8. When I click on a link in the Webshots Desktop software it says “Unable to open hyperlink.”
We recommend using Internet Explorer as your default browser for the best compatibility with Webshots. To set it as default:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click the Tools menu followed by Internet Options.
    3. Under the Programs tab, put a check next to Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Close Internet Explorer and re-open it.
    6. When a message pops up asking if you'd like to set Internet Explorer as your default browser, choose OK.

All links within the Webshots Desktop software should now work correctly.

  9. I'm receiving a message that says I've reached my 5 photo download limit, but I haven't downloaded 5 photos. What's wrong?
You must be a Premium Member to download more than 5 photos per day. Depending on the time you downloaded 5 images on the previous day, you may need to wait a full 24 hours before downloading again.

Also, the 5 photo limit applies for each user name so if you are using your Webshots account on another computer or if someone else is using your user name to access Webshots, your account may have already reached the 5 photo limit.

Please try again in at least 24 hours.

  10. I tried to download but it took so long I cancelled.
Try downloading again. Most likely there was heavy Internet traffic when you tried to download.
